It’s impossible to adequately describe in words the magnificent beauty of this enchanting album; it's a one-of-a-kind treasure, conjuring endlessly enthralling new feelings, a mystical blend of the ethereal and corporeal. Nine years after my first listen, it’s still taking me deeper along a magical mystery tour of the uncharted inner realms of Dreamland. I first met Sharrhan Williamson years ago on the living-foods.com Web forum when I was the moderator. Her colorful “outside the box” provocations were engaging, and we shared some private e-mail correspondence. She sent me a cassette tape of “Voices” and over the next few years I wore it out; it was (and still is) my favorite late-night bedtime sendoff music. We lost touch with one another and, in recent years, hoping to replace the worn-out tape, I searched the Web for Sharrhan in vain. Then, this past spring, I received an e-mail with the subject line of “A blast from your past.” Sharrhan had contacted me! Sharrhan and her multi-talented husband, Jonathan, had put out the “Voices” album and two others in CD format, and she sent them to me. What a blessing to know they will forever be available. I also felt fortunate to meet Sharrhan and Jonathan a few months later in Cambridge, Massachusetts on my east coast trip to visit family. Sharrhan is a full-time Good Samaritan and part-time flautist, busker and member of the Cambridge Arts Council. She also coordinates the Boston, Massachusetts Area Codex Action Committee. Our chat went on for hours and I was deeply inspired by being in the company of this most gifted artist. Look for Sharrhan’s story in the next issue of Living Nutrition. “Voices” contains three magnificent compositions: ”The Love,” “The Mystery” and “The Flow.” They are tranquilizing yet alive with rich elements that ground me in the present moment, wherein I can explore the wondrous sensations as new mind-body horizons open up. For those seeking ambient meditation music for exploring the inner terrain, this CD is a must. Sharrhan’s mesmerizing flute improvisations and dreamy vocalizations are woven together with Jonathan's magical, many-layered synthesizer arrangements, with both earthy and otherworldly ambient sounds and sequencing effects, plus gentle resonant percussion. The listener is transported across enchanted universes alive with color, texture and magic. The dreamily meandering sojourns somehow connect us to a lost wisdom from a long-forgotten time. Each new listening experience opens paths to unfamiliar or, perhaps, faintly reminiscent places, evocative of the “golden age” of the first women and men, as related in the “Dreamtime” mythology of the Australian Aborigines. I’m going back tonight to journey further....
