The Science and Fine Art of Food and Nutrition There are almost as many types of readers as there are varieties of people. However, for discussions sake, let us say there are two kinds of readers: One who is studying Dr. Shelton and desires to be a natural hygienist (which can also mean learning to be a fasting practitioner), and the second, who wants to know more about natural hygiene--health and nutrition--for curiositys sake. To the first type of reader, the student of hygiene, I recommend this title, and a good half dozen of Dr. Shelton's many other publications. And to the second type of reader, I'd say if you can read and digest the Fine Art of Food and Nutrition, your thirst and quest for knowledge can be satisfied with this one book. When reading this title I recommend that you read the table of contents over a few times and pick out chapters that capture your interest. The preface by Dr. V. V. Vetrano is excellent for the new reader, and the introduction by Dr. Shelton is well done, giving a brief history of natural hygiene. And Chapter One, concerning the philosophy of nutrition, is well worth reading. By the time you get to page 27, of Chapter Two, Food Elements, you will have gained a brand new education on health and the philosophy of health and nutrition. The book goes on to explain in great detail the world of minerals and vitamins, covering pretty much except fasting. "Fasting Can Save Your Life" and "The Science and Art of Fasting are the definitive works on the subject for the serious student of Shelton. In my personal experience with natural hygiene I credit these books as extending and saving my own life. And I have given back by extending to others and saving other people's lives, including a half dozen children and babies. This book on nutrition is probably as close to a universal manual, bible, or reference book on the subject as you can get. Treat yourself and order the book, and you will be thankful.
